Walbert Entrepreneurship Impact Award, a prestigious $50,000 prize recognizing outstanding Illinois entrepreneurs in the life sciences industry.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words\">The finalists for this first-ever competition are:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"-mt-1 list-disc space-y-2 pl-8\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alanis Therapeutics LLC<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ikaikatherapeutics.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ikaika Therapeutics<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/osteogentech.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Osteogen Technology Corp.<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/rheoxtech.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rheoxtech<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Varchas Biotechnologies<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wavetherapeuticsinc.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wave Therapeutics<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words\">&#8220;This award honors the entrepreneurial spirit and innovation of our local life sciences startups,&#8221; said John Conrad, iBIO President and CEO. &#8220;Illinois is an emerging powerhouse for biotech, and initiatives like this will propel our startups and cement the region as a global destination for the industry.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words\">The winner will be announced at a ceremony on June 20th at Fulton Labs in Chicago, featuring a keynote from John Crowley, CEO of the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO). Crowley&#8217;s journey bringing treatments for rare diseases to market was depicted in the 2010 film &#8220;Extraordinary Measures.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words\">The $50,000 award is named after Tim Walbert, chairman of Horizon Therapeutics, recognizing his leadership and commitment to patients, innovation and entrepreneurship in Illinois.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words\">&#8220;This competition organized by iBIO honors Tim&#8217;s relentless drive to create breakthrough therapies that improve patients&#8217; lives,&#8221; Conrad said. &#8220;We&#8217;re thrilled to spotlight our local entrepreneurial talent carrying that torch forward.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words\"><strong>Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/ibio.org\/walbert-award\/\">ibio.org\/walbert-award<\/a> for event details, sponsorship opportunities and registration.
