STEMgirls Chicago is a hands-on STEM summer camp in Chicago for girls entering grades 3–8. Hosted by the Illinois Biotechnology Innovation Organization (iBIO), the week-long camp introduces students to science, engineering, and biotechnology through interactive experiments, teamwork, and real-world problem solving. Camp takes place July 6–10 in Chicago and is designed to build confidence and curiosity in STEM.

STEMgirls Camp proudly returns with this summer’s theme “Case Breakers”, turning curious girls into brilliant scientific sleuths who use forensic tools, epidemiological testing, and home-built security tech to expose microorganisms, bust security failures, and catch culprits red-handed. Get ready to gather evidence, connect the dots, and crack every case wide open!

Girls entering grades 3-8 this fall will spend five fun-filled days bringing their ideas to life while making new friends who share their sense of adventure. Independent external evaluation shows STEMgirls Camps consistently increase girls’ positive feelings toward STEM activities, their familiarity with and interest in pursuing STEM careers, and their confidence in STEM subjects.
Parent surveys reveal overwhelming support with 100% reporting they would recommend STEMgirls to others and found Family Day an excellent way to learn about STEM with their daughters. Additionally, 98% say camp made STEM fun for their daughters, built their daughters’ confidence, and that they planned to enroll their daughter again next summer.
